The Itinerary — 6 Days, 5 Nights

Arrive to Hilton Head Airport where transportation to your hotel, the chic and eclectic Mansion on Forsyth Park, will be waiting for you.

Upon arriving, check-in to your rooms and take some leisure time to refresh before meeting your ATC Trip Host and fellow travelers for a Welcome Cocktail at the hotel’s tented patio. Afterward, take a stroll down River Street, “a glittering, multi-faceted gem along the broad Savannah River where century-old buildings, once cotton warehouses, have been converted to antique shops, distinctive boutiques, spectacular galleries, quaint brew pubs, fabulous restaurants, unique nightspots, elegant inns and hotels.”

Enjoy dinner at Vic’s on the River, a beautiful boutique restaurant located in one of the aforementioned converted cotton warehouses. Charming, inviting, and simply divine, a dinner at Vic’s is a great introduction to what you can expect from this trip to Savannah!

Begin the day with a Walking Tour of Savannah with Savannah Dan, named the best tour guide in Savannah for 6 years in a row. “Stroll through  picturesque squares framed in Live Oaks, dripping with "Spanish moss". See stately antebellum mansions and churches and hear the secrets they still keep today. View Savannah's unique architectural styles which will transport you back in time, to the days of yesteryear. Let Savannah Dan regale you with his factual but whimsical and entertaining history of Savannah. Following this fantastic introduction into the history and mystery of Savannah, get a real taste of the city through an “off the beaten path” Food Tour. It’s no secret that the South is known for great food, and Savannah is no exception. Teeming with a variety of southern, ethnic, gourmet, fusion, and local gems, a food tour is a great way to gain a little bit of insight into this city’s bustling food scene.

Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Re-group in the evening for drinks and small plates at the hotel’s Bösendorfer Lounge before attending a theatre performance at Savannah’s iconic Lucas Theatre For The Arts.

Begin the day with a bit of shopping on Broughton Street, which has quickly become a hub for shopping in Savannah. Visit the Savannah Bee Company to learn about the company’s mission to inform others of the importance of bees and sample their specialty bee products like honey, bee pollen, beauty products, candles and more.

Afterward, head to The Paris Market, a charming, 18th-century Victorian boutique filled to the brim with fantastic treasures from around the world giving one the feel of a well curated Parisian flea market. Enjoy perusing the shop before having lunch at the adjacent Paris Market Cafe, recently named “The Most Beautiful Coffee Shop in Georgia” by Architectural Digest.

Spend the rest of the afternoon shopping and art gallery hopping at Savannah City Market, a large open-air market full of unique shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Watch artists at work as you sip on a refreshing beverage and drink in the sights of this happening place.

Enjoy dinner at Good Times Jazz Bar and Restaurant before “hunting for ghosts” in some of Savannah’s most haunted places on a Savannah Ghost Tour. After all, Savannah is allegedly the most haunted city in the United States!

In the morning, a guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to the historic seaside town of Beaufort, South Carolina. Famed for its historic Antebellum homes and gorgeous, centuries-old live oak trees draped with Spanish moss, Beaufort is a charming city full of history. Upon arriving, your guide will regale exciting stories about the Civil War, the Reconstruction Era, and the local Gullah Geeche culture, pointing out significant sites along the way including Sam’s Plantation on Dataw Island, the National Cemetery used for both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War, and film sites featured in movies like Forrest Gump and Big Chill. Afterward, enjoy free time in the waterfront district to explore downtown Beaufort, take a riverboat ride, visit a museum, or do a bit of shopping.

Return to Savannah in the evening and enjoy dinner and live entertainment at the Casmir Lounge in the Mansion on Forsyth Park.

Day 5

Enjoy the morning at leisure or join an optional Architectural Tour of Savannah to learn about the city’s architectural metamorphosis from pre-colonial times to today and how each style contributes to Savannah’s distinctive character.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing the journey on a tour of the sites and landmarks featured in the movie based on John Berendt’s best-selling novel, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

In the evening, conclude the trip with a Farewell Dinner at The Olde Pink House, a historic Savannah icon. Built by a wealthy planter in 1771, this iconic mansion is rumored to have been the site of many secret meetings which helped to secure the colonies’ independence in the American Revolution. Eventually, the house was turned into the first bank in Georgia and later became the headquarters for General York during the Civil War. For decades after, the home changed hands until in 1992 it was restored to its former glory and it became The Olde Pink House Restaurant. As you dine within these storied walls, exchange stories with newfound friends and reflect on your time in beautiful Savannah.

  • $950 deposit is required upon booking

  • $1,250 payment due on or before January 10, 2021.

  • $1,000 payment due on or before February 10, 2021.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel your trip 90 days or more prior to departure, and you will receive a full refund of any monies paid to the ATC. Cancel your trip between 89 - 60 days prior to departure, and you will receive a 50% refund. Cancel your trip between 59 - 30 days prior to departure and you will receive a 25% refund. Cancel your trip less than 30 days prior to departure, and you will receive no refund.

  • All cancellations must be sent via email to contact@astridtravel.com and are effective the date we receive this correspondence.

    ATC reserves the right to cancel this trip for any reason. Such reasons include, but are not limited to, not achieving a minimum number of participants necessary to make the trip feasible, weather phenomena, and other unforeseen circumstances. In such event, you may choose to either receive a full refund, including the deposit, or apply your payments to another trip if approved by ATC.

Traveler Requirements

  • Travelers must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months following the return travel date if travelling internationally.

  • Travelers are responsible for making their own flight arrangements.

  • Travelers must provide a copy of their desired flight reservation before booking to ensure that all information is correct.

Travel Insurance is Recommended

  • The ATC does not require travel insurance for domestic trips, however, it is strongly encouraged you purchase travel insurance. In the event that you are unable attend this trip due to an illness, family emergency, missed or canceled flight, act of terrorism, natural disaster, etc., Astrid Solo Travel Advisor, AstridTravel LLC, the AstridTravel Club LLC, nor any affiliated person or party will be held responsible for payment repatriation.
