The Itinerary — 8 Days, 7 Nights

Arrive to Heathrow airport by mid-morning. A driver will escort you to the Hotel Chesterfield Mayfair where you will drop off your luggage and meet the other arriving travelers.

In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a walking tour encompassing some of most famous palaces and parks in London including Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and Hyde Park. Learn from a local historian about the history of the British Monarchy and its metamorphosis over the centuries.

Once the tour has concluded, head back to the hotel to relax and get settled before Welcome Drinks and small plates at Butler’s Restaurant in the Chesterfield Mayfair. Head to bed early for a well-deserved rest!

Begin the day with a trip to the Kew Royal Botanical Gardens, one of the only botanical gardens in the world that also happens to be an UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this tour, you’ll learn from a plant historian about the fascinating history of English Gardens and their surprising influence on British culture.

Afterward, enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in the Botanical Restaurant. From there, you’ll head to Syon House, “one of the last great houses of London,” and home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. At over 450 years old, Syon House is a treasured piece of history capable of transporting visitors back in time to an age of splendor and sophistication.

Following your visit to Syon House, venture back to the city center and spend the evening shopping and dining in the iconic Harrods department store - a must-do when in London!

Beat the crowds and get an early morning start at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, perhaps the most spectacular garden event in the world. Acclaimed horticulturists from around the globe gather every year in May on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea to showcase their spectacular one-of-a-kind gardens and floral exhibits at this exclusive event. The Chelsea Flower Show draws visitor from all across London’s social scene - including members of the Royal Family. “World-renowned, glamorous and quintessentially British, the RHS Chelsea is a truly unique and unforgettable day out,” says the RHS website.

Enjoy lunch at the acclaimed Rock Bank Restaurant and spend the afternoon viewing the many spectacular exhibits.

Return to the hotel and enjoy a bit of leisure time before enjoying dinner at Christopher’s in the Covent Garden Theatre District. Afterward, attend a world class theatre performance!

Meet your guide early in the morning for a scheduled transfer to Highgrove House and Gardens - Prince Charles’s beloved country estate and gardens located in the Cotswolds. Enjoy the scenic drive through the English countryside as your guide shares with you information about the surrounding area.

Upon arriving to Highgrove House, you’ll embark on an exclusive tour of the splendid, carefully curated gardens. As this is Prince Charles’s private estate, a limited number of guests are granted entry to Highgrove House, and only for a limited time in the summer months. Following the tour, enjoy afternoon tea and a glass of house-made champagne in the Orchard Room restaurant. On your way back to London, pay a visit to the nearby Westonbirt Arboretum, perhaps one of the most famous arboretums in all of the UK housing over 2,500 different species of trees.

Upon arriving back in London, enjoy dinner at Butler’s Restaurant at the Chesterfield Mayfair.

In the morning, board the London Underground and travel to the charming neighborhood of Notting Hill. Once there, you’ll meet your expert guide who will take you down picturesque alleyways and past brightly colorful townhomes while recounting tales of Notting Hill’s bohemian roots and some of its most interesting, and infamous residents.

After the conclusion of the tour, have lunch in the area and spend the afternoon strolling around this picturesque setting. Be sure to browse through the famous Portobello Road Market and stop for an afternoon libation in the flower-clad Churchill Arms Pub!

Return to the hotel and enjoy some leisure time on your own. In the evening, you’ll take a gourmet dinner cruise along the Thames River. Drink in sites of the glowing city as you sip champagne, enjoy a delicious meal, and listen to the sounds of a live band on board.

In the morning, your private guide will pick you up at the Chesterfield Mayfair and escort you on a full-day tour of the Cotswolds. Beyond just a brief overview of the area, this full-day tour will offer a very intimate look into life in the English Countryside. Your first stop will be to the village of Swinbrook - the site of the iconic 14th-century church and burial place of the legendary Mitford sisters. Continue the journey through many more Cotswold villages like Burford, Taynton, Great Rissington, Bourton on the Water, Lower and Upper Slaughters, and Stow on the Wold.

Break for lunch in a small local pub before taking a tour of Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill and home of the current Duke of Marlborough. Learn about the property’s storied past - interesting linked to many historical occurrences throughout England’s past.

Journey back to london and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure after a full day.

Perhaps the most popular breakfast spot in all of London, the Wolseley, with its opulent interior design and classic café fare, draws visitor from all walks of life. Enjoy a delicious, traditional English breakfast at this famous restaurant before paying a visit to the massive Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) which houses over 2 million pieces. With so many items, its nearly impossible to absorb the V&A in one day. To make this monumental museum easier to tackle, we’ll focus on British fashion through a private tour of the museum’s Fashion and Textile exhibit. This exhibit highlights over 250 years of changing British fashion trends and demonstrates the ways in which couture and culture are interestingly intertwined.

Enjoy leisure time in the afternoon before our Farewell Dinner at the fabulous Dining Room at the Goring Hotel - a frequent favorite of the Royal Family!

Day 8

Check-out of the Chesterfield Mayfair and transfer to Heathrow Airport for your flight home. (We can either arrange for a car to take you to the airport or transfer you to the nearest train station, which is often faster. This can be arranged at the time of trip booking.)

  • $1,200 deposit is required upon booking

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel your trip 90 days or more prior to departure, and you will receive a full refund of any monies paid to the ATC. Cancel your trip between 89 - 60 days prior to departure, and you will receive a 50% refund. Cancel your trip between 59 - 30 days prior to departure and you will receive a 25% refund. Cancel your trip less than 30 days prior to departure, and you will receive no refund.

    All cancellations must be sent via email to contact@astridtravel.com and are effective the date we receive this correspondence.

    ATC reserves the right to cancel this trip for any reason. Such reasons include, but are not limited to, attaining an insufficient number of participants necessary to make the trip feasible, weather, and similar unforeseen circumstances. In such event, you may choose to either receive a full refund or apply your payments to another trip if approved by ATC.

Traveler Requirements

  • Travelers must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months following the return travel date. 

  • Travelers are responsible for making their own flight arrangements.

  • Travelers must provide a copy of their desired flight reservation before booking to ensure that all information is correct. If you would like assistance booking your flight, please contact us.
